Superfoods that help you turn back the clock

Superfood 1: Red Fruits (cranberries, raspberries, and strawberries)

Those fruits are loaded with Vitamin C and known to be some of the most powerful antioxidants to prevent diseases. They boost the immune system and keep the skin and eyes youthful. Tip: Add raspberries to whole-grain breakfast cereals to help the body absorb iron from the cereals.

Superfood 2: Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are one of the very few foods that contain both Vitamin C and E which work as antioxidants with one another to fight wrinkles and preserve sight and memory. The orange sweet potatoes are very rich in beta-carotene that keeps the eyes and lungs healthy and boosts the immune system. Tip: Bake it or roast with a minimal amount of fat and add it to one of the healthy salads or serve it as a side dish to the main meal.

Superfood 3: Flaxseeds

Flaxseed and flaxseed oil are loaded with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which are the backbone of a healthy heart, young skin, and an efficient immune system. Flaxseed is also rich in Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc. It contains lignans which act as an anti-carcinogenic factor. Tip: Use ground flaxseed with warm water as a facemask for more radiant skin.

Avocados are heart-healthy as they are rich in omega-9 fatty acids and have anti-inflammatory properties. The main antioxidant in avocado is lutein which is known to help against eye and heart diseases. Tip: Cut up slices of avocado with low-fat milk to make a very healthy and wholesome milkshake. Avocado slices can also be added to a salad with lemon and a hint of olive oil.
